SMS / Messaging Policy

Find My Mahjong uses text messages (SMS) to confirm bookings, remind you about a game, tell you when a waitlisted seat opens, verify your phone number and reset your password. This policy explains what we send, how you agree to receive it, and how to stop it at any time.

Program description

• Verification codes — a 6-digit code when you add or confirm your mobile number.
• Password reset codes — a 6-digit code when you ask to reset your password.
• Booking confirmations — when you reserve or cancel a seat.
• Game reminders — shortly before a game you are booked into.
• Waitlist notices — when a seat frees up and you are next in line.
• Host notices — if a Host changes or cancels a game you are booked into.

These are account and transaction messages tied to something you asked for. We do not send unrelated marketing by text.

How you opt in

You opt in by giving us your mobile number and ticking the consent box when you create your player account, add a phone number to your profile, or ask for a verification or password-reset code. By doing so you agree to receive automated text messages from Find My Mahjong at that number.

Consent is not a condition of any purchase and is not required to use the Service — you can browse games and manage your account without text messages, using email instead. Only the person who holds the mobile account may opt that number in; if your number changes, please update your profile so a stranger does not receive your messages.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on how you use the Service — typically 1 message per verification or password reset, 1 per booking or cancellation, and 1 reminder per game you are booked into. Most members receive fewer than 10 messages per month.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. Find My Mahjong does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may, according to your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.

How to opt out — STOP

Reply STOP to any message from us to end all text messages to that number. We will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and then nothing further. The keywords STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT all work.

You can also turn texts off from your profile page, or write to hello@findmymahjong.org. If you opt out you will still receive booking information by email. To start again, reply START or re-add your number in your profile.

Carriers and delivery

Delivery is subject to your carrier's network. Messages may be delayed or undelivered, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on a text message alone for a time-critical arrival — your bookings are always visible in My Games.

Privacy

Your mobile number is used to deliver the messages described above and for account security. No mobile information is sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes, and text-message opt-in data is not shared with anyone. We share your number with our messaging provider only so it can deliver your messages. See our Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change and material updates will be announced on the site.
